Many people cannot attend a physical university, for any number of reasons. Mostly it is due to their income being needed to support a family, or a lack of funding to maintain themselves for a few years. Some people simply do not want to give up their present jobs, but need to qualify for promotion. For those who would still want to improve their careers but cannot attend university, distance learning provides a viable solution.
